Adaptive Listening Section Directions

This section of the assessment test evaluates how well you understand spoken English.

There are two question types in this section:

• In the Question and Response type, you will hear a question followed by three or four possible responses. They are not written on the screen, so you must listen closely. Choose the best response.
• In the Short Conversations type, you will read a question followed by three or four choices. Choose the best answer to the question based on the short conversation or talk you will hear.

Click the play button to listen to the question. The question will be spoken only once, so you must listen closely. You CANNOT skip questions or review your answers to previous questions, so think through your answer to each question very carefully before submitting.

You will need speakers or a headset to hear the audio in this section of the test. Make sure that your audio volume is turned up before you begin.
